A survey being conducted by the Paducah-McCracken Metropolitan Planning Organization could help shape transportation in the area.
The online survey will help craft the first Metropolitan Transportation Plan, which would be a guideline for improvements the area would need to address through 2050. The goal of the survey is to get public comments and concerns, share ideas, and identify priorities for all modes of transportation in the area. The survey is said to only take five to ten minutes to complete and is open for area residents through May 16th.
Paducah Mayor George Bray said, “This Metropolitan Transportation Plan will focus on large topics including safety, mobility, and connectivity. This survey is your chance to directly communicate what your top priorities may be regarding transportation. Most questions allow you to rank your priorities, and your input is important in shaping the plan’s elements. Please take the survey and help us develop a long-term plan that will be the guide for transportation improvements over the long run.”
The Paducah-McCracken Metropolitan Planning Organization was formed in 2023 in cooperation with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Illinois Department of Transportation, City of Paducah, City of Brookport, Livingston County, and McCracken County. The collaboration could open up more federal grants to help with the planning and execution of improvements to area roads.
