Smithland man charged with rape

A Smithland man was arrested on rape charges after a two-month investigation by the Livingston County Sheriffs office.

Deputies arrested 38-year-old Cody Collins after the investigation allegedly revealed Collins had been sexually involved with a 16-year-old girl since last September.

Collins was charged with four counts of third degree rape and first degree unlawful transaction with a minor. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail and is currently out on a $5,000 cash bond.
