A small earthquake was recorded in southeast Missouri on Friday night.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the quake measured 2.8 on the Richter Scale. It occurred at 8:37 pm, and was centered three miles southwest of Puxico, or 34 miles west of Sikeston.
While no damage has been reported from this earthquake, as of 8:00 am Saturday morning, the USGS had received 49 reports of it being felt.
