A Graves County road was blocked for much of the day Sunday when a semi flipped over and spilled its load of corn.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of KY 1684 and KY 849 in the Dogwood community.

They determined that a car driven by David Salin of Hickory pulled into the path of the semi driven by Marco Ramirez of Murray. The collision forced Salin's car off the roadway.  The overturned onto its left side and lost its full load of corn.

Salin was flown to a Nashville area hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Ramirez, and a passenger in his vehicle, Anahi Garcia of Murray, were transported to Mercy Health-Paducah for treatment of their injuries.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted with clean up until around 7 p.m. when KY 1684 was open, and a single lane was open on KY 849.
