UPDATE: The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is continuing the search for a man that was seen Tuesday night near the 28 mile marker of I-24 walking in the westbound lane.
Prior to deputies arrival, they received a second call advising the man was on the bridge walking east in the westbound lane. When they arrived, the man was observed on the shoulder of the roadway near the top of the Tennessee River bridge.
When they turned around to approach the area where the man was seen, he was gone.
A search and rescue mission of the Tennessee River has not been successful.
The man is described as white with a bald head and was last seen wearing blue jeans, green New Balance tennis shoes and a red plaid flannel coat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office or Marshall County E911.

Authorities searched the Tennessee River overnight looking for a possible jumper off the I-24 bridge in Marshall County
The Marshall County Rescue Squad and Marshall County Emergency Management were called out around midnight Wednesday to the Tennessee River near Gilbertsville. side scan sonar and drones were used in the search along with boats and personnel from East Marshall Fire, South Marshall Fire, McCracken County Rescue, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources, Calvert City Police, and Kentucky State Police.
The search was halted due to fog rolling in, in addition to the lack of a missing person report or other witnesses.
The Marshall County Rescue Squad will search the area again, today with the assistance of the U.S. Coast Guard from Paducah. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact local law enforcement.
