The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said scammers struck again Tuesday.
According to a social media post, the caller will tell you they are a deputy with the Sheriff's Office and that you have a warrant for not showing up for court. They sound official giving out badge numbers and violation codes and will then tell you to pay a certain amount of money to freeze the warrant and get this issue resolved.
Thw McCracken County Sheriff's Office will never call you directly and ask for money. If you receive a call like this, do not give out any personal information and hang up.
