County crews and volunteers spent today in Calloway County filling sandbags for the likelihood of flooding from the 8-12 inches of rain anticipated through Saturday.

Many of the Calloway County Jail Class D inmates also pitched in and helped make sandbags.

The Calloway County Road Department will have sandbags available for the public to pickup as available. You can pick them up at 105 East Sycamore Street in the back parking lot.

Sandbags are also available at the Marshall County Road Department located at 160 Homer Lucas Lane in Benton. According to the Marshall County Fiscal Court, county inmates, the road department and maintenance are filling sandbags ahead of the incoming weather.
