SIU sees 3.4% gain in summer enrollment

 Southern Illinois University announced an enrollment increase for the summer 2024 semester, marking the third straight semester of growth.

SIU announced an enrollment of 5,025 students in the summer, a 3.4 percent increase of 163 students from the previous year.

This follows a four percent rise of 401 students in the spring semester compared to last year.

The summer growth rounds out a full academic year where the university has seen an increase in students from the previous year. The increase in the Fall 2023 semester was the first gain since 2014.

The university's all-time record enrollment was 24,869 students in 1991.
