Reconstruction of a section of Old Mayfield Road to begin Monday

A section of Old Mayfield Road will be reconstructed beginning on Monday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is overseeing the work that will close Old Mayfield/KY 994 between the US 60/Irvin Cobb Drive/21st Street intersection to Division Street through June 30th. The project will include removing the troublesome asphalt surface and reworking curbs, gutters, and drainage.  A new concrete driving surface will complete the reworking.  

Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses, but there will be no through traffic allowed. There will also not be a marked detour. 

Harper Construction is handling the work for KYTC. The project will cost about $1.5 million.
