A Princeton man found guilty in February for the death of his wife has received a 25-year prison term.

WPKY reported Wednesday that Byron Black received the sentence in Caldwell Circuit Court earlier this week.  Black was found guilty of shooting his wife Kelly after picking her up at the Nashville International Airport.  Her body was discovered  by Princeton Police following a welfare check on January 28, 2024.

During the investigation, authorities issued an amber alert when they could not locate the couple’s five-year-old daughter. The following day, after Black's arrest at a Princeton hotel, police found the daughter unharmed and also recovered a handgun from his truck.

Black was found guilty of murder and abuse of a corpse in February after three days of jury deliberation.
