A welcome warm week will continue with temperatures today nearly 30 degrees above normal.
After a high of 65 in Paducah on Sunday, it will be unseasonably warm again today with a high up to 73. If that high is achieved, it will set a record for the day. The previous record is 71 set in 2020.
The warm air today will also churn up gusty south winds up to 30 miles per hour.
Tuesday will be cooler but still well above normal at 60, and 68 is forecast for Wednesday.
Average temperatures for the first week of February in Paducah are highs of 44 and lows of 28. Those averages are already slowly on the rise toward March's averages of 54 and 34.
Rain chances will spread across the region late Tuesday night, with widespread rain and some thunderstorms Wednesday into Wednesday night. Rain will slowly end from west to east Thursday into Thursday evening.
On Friday, temperatures will return closer to normal at 49.
Dry and cooler conditions can be expected Friday, with the high a still above-average 49.
