Police from several agencies in western Kentucky were involved in a multi-county pursuit and recaptured a pair of runaways from the Mayfield Youth Development Center on Thursday night.

Seventeen-year-old MarCellus Sowell of New Albany, Indiana, and 16-year-old Darryl Goodwin from Louisville escaped from the center at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday. The two were being held on charges related to armed robbery.

Kentucky State Police along with Mayfield Police and the Graves County Sheriff's Office were searching the Kess Creek area of Graves County when a pickup was reported stolen from the area. Witnesses believed it could be the juveniles.

The stolen truck was spotted traveling north on I-69 just after 10 p.m. A pursuit of the individuals took them north into Marshall County and eventually to Livingston County where the suspects fled on foot from the truck near exit 31 at KY 453. The two were captured at about 10:35 p.m. after a brief foot pursuit.

Police identified the suspects as the escaped juveniles. KSP is continuing the investigation.
