A pair of disturbance calls last week landed a pair of Metropolis men in jail.

One of the calls brought officers to an apartment on Lois Lane. A victim told police that a man had punched her in the eye and slammed her head against a wall. Police located the suspect, 44-year-old Robert H. Bowling of Metropolis. Bowling was charged with domestic battery.

The other unrelated call took officers to a home on Oak Drive. A victim told officers that 21-year-old Christian L. Dumas had grabbed her while she was holding her child. They reported seeing marks on the woman's neck as well as seeing that the neckline of her shirt was torn. Dumas was arrested and charged with domestic battery.

Bowling and Dumas were both taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
