Paducah woman jailed on charge of theft of a vehicle

A Paducah woman was arrested Tuesday at a residence after being spotted driving a stolen vehicle.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said 40-year-old Sophia Scott was spotted driving in a suspcious manner in the Elmsdale Road area.

Deputies quickly learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Illinois earlier in the day.

Scott parked the car at an Elmsdale Road residence before she could be pulled over.

They went into the residence and arrested Scott on charges of receiving stolen property over $1,000.

She was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
