Paducah woman jailed on animal cruelty charges

A Paducah woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with an investigaton involving animal cruelty.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said on Jaunary 11th, deputies found nine puppies in a plastic tote on Paducah's southside.  

In the course of the investigation, it was determined the puppies were six weeks old .  

They were also flea ridden and covered in blood.

43-year-old Joanna Mitchell was arrested and charged with nine counts of cruelty to animals.

She was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
