A call about an animal left in a vehicle landed a Paducah woman behind bars Friday morning.
Deputies responded to a parking lot on South 6th Street for a report of a puppy in a vehicle that was not running.
Authorities said they were able to get inside of the vehicle to check on the dog, which appeared to be in distress and did not have access to food or water.
After finding the owner, identified as 19-year-old Chloe Throgmorton, they said it was determined she left the dog overnight.
In addition, she was allegedly found to be under the influence and a search of her vehicle reportedly uncovered meth, syringes, and other paraphernalia.
She was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals, public intoxication, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The puppy was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment with plans to take it to the McCracken County Human Society at a later date.
