Paducah teenagers apprehended in Metropolis joyride

Six Paducah juveniles were involved in an incident last Monday in Metropolis.

Metropolis police were notified by Padicah police they were investigating a stolen truck belonging to Orkin Exterminators.

The truck's security system was found to be "pinging" in the area of North Avenue and Country Club Road.  An officer spotted the vehicle and when he activated his lights, the vehicle did not stop.

The driver sped up to 57 miles per hour before he was boxed in at North Avenue and Carter Lane.

The 16-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing/attempting to elude police, speeding and no valid drivers license.

When Paducah police arrived, all six juveniles were questioned and released to their parents.
