Paducah taking bids on surplus property

The City of Paducah is accepting bids on 78 parcels of surplus property around the city, with the hope that the lots will be redeveloped.

The parcels are scattered among 13 neighborhoods. The minimum bid on a property is only $1. As an added incentive to buy one of the lots, the Planning Department said they have house plans available free of charge.

The Planning Department is taking the bids on the properties until 4 p.m. on May 8th.

The city said that there are a number of ways these properties are acquired, even donation.
