To prepare for upcoming work to build the Paducah Sports Park, the City of Paducah has closed the gravel section of the Greenway Trail, and the adjoining disc golf course.
The closure will be in place for approximately eight weeks while A&K Construction is preparing the site at the former Bluegrass Downs site and at Stuart Nelson Park.
The extent of the Greenway Trail closure is from the Bob Leeper Bridge to the creek crossing on the trail behind Kroger.
Contractors are placing signage and barricades and installing temporary fencing to secure the active construction site. Barricades with signage are being placed at the Greenway Trail entrance at County Park Road and at the entrance to the gravel trail in Noble Park.
The nearly four-mile concrete section of the Greenway Trail from Noble Park to the riverfront is open and available for use. Furthermore, the McCracken County Trail is open.
