A Paducah man has been arrested after authorities said he sold drugs to an undercover detective.

Paducah police said they learned 24-year-old Shykeem B. Merriel was trafficking illegal drugs.

Undercover detectives made contact with him, and Merriel reportedly agreed to sell them a quarter-ounce of meth and ecstasy pills.

Authorities said Merriel met with them, then admitting he had meth in his possession after officers identified themselves.

While being processed at the jail, a body scan was performed which allegedly uncovered a large amount of ecstasy pills.

In total, he was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and promoting contraband.
