A Paducah man faces attempted rape and assault charges after his arrest in Princeton on Sunday morning.

Princeton Police said officers were sent to Hillview Court to investigate an EPO violation and assault. When they saw 34-year-old Tyler Masse walking away, he was within 500 feet of the protected residence and person.

According to police, the female victim reported that Masse broke in through the home’s back door and started assaulting and strangling her. Police said she also alleged that Masse attempted to rape her during the incident.

Masse was arrested and charged with attempted rape, strangulation, assault, burglary and violation of a Kentucky EPO.

He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
