A Paducah man was arrested and charged with trafficking in drugs after running from police in Marshall County.

Marshall County Sheriff’s detectives, along with detectives from Calloway County, attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 61-year-old James Watson of Paducah. Watson sped away through a parking lot, nearly hitting a detective in the process. Deputies pursued Watson to the end of Murphy Lane, south of Benton, where he took off on foot. A Benton Police officer caught up to and finally arrested Watson.

Watson was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and cocaine, fleeing or evading in a vehicle and on foot, plus wanton endangerment, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail.
