A Paducah man was arrested on several drug related charges Tuesday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they received information alleging that 63-year-old John Sotelo of Bridge Street,Paducah was selling methamphetamine from a residence in Paducah.

Detectives were familiar with Sotelo from a previous investigation in which he was arrested and convicted of trafficking in methamphetamine in McCracken County in 2019.


As part of the investigation, detectives conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Sotelo. On February 4th, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Sotelo’s residence located at 2168 Bridge Street .

Sotelo was present inside the residence at the time the warrant was served. During the search, Sotelo was transported to a local hospital due to a preexisting medical condition.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and assorted drug paraphernalia inside the residence.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Sotelo. He was arrested at his residence without incident. 

Sotelo was charged with two counts of trafficking in meth, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was odged in the McCracken County Jail.
