In an effort to consolidate the distribution of donations for storm victims, the City of Paducah and partners have developed The Restoration Center for West Kentucky.
City officials said the overwhelming generosity of people and organizations across the country in providing donations to benefit those impacted by recent storms led to the need to manage the high volume of relief items.
The center, located at 3410 James Sanders Boulevard, is a partnership to coordinate warehousing, receiving, and supply distribution for Marshall, Graves, Calloway, Fulton Hickman, Carlisle, Ballard, and McCracken counties.
The Restoration Center will not be open to the public and only serves to facilitate the needs of churches and relief organizations. Churches, organizations, and schools will be able to order and pick up supplies or have them delivered to specific locations as necessary.
Officials will begin scheduling to receive items on December 28. Until a phone number is established, anyone needing to offload items or schedule volunteers to serve should contact Lone Oak First Baptist Church at 270-554-1441. The center has an immediate need for forklift operators with warehousing experience.
They are currently not receiving additional donations. Beginning on January 3, previously-scheduled donations will be accepted. On January 10, the facility will open for new scheduling of donations.
Some items may be able to be segemented for warehouse storage unique to a church if space is available and the church plans to undergo tornado-related repairs.
