One dead, one charged in fatal traffic accident in Hopkinsville Saturday night

A Clarksville man is dead and a Chicago man was charged in connection with a Saturday night traffic accident in Hopkinsville.  

WKDZ reported Kentucky State Police as saying around 6:11 pm the accident occured on Fort Campbell Blvd. 

A southbound tractor trailer operated by 36-year-old Gerasimos Livieratos of Chicago, IL was making a U-turn, attempting to go northbound,when it collided with a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Bernice Franklin of Clarksville, TN.

Franklin was trapped inside his vehicle underneath the tractor trailer.  He was taken to Jennie Stuart Health where he succumbed to his injuries.

Livieratos was arrested and charged with failure to or improper signal, improper turning, DUI, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs.  He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
