One injured during shooting in Mounds

One man was injured during a shooting incident in southern Illinois on Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to the city of Mounds in the 100 block of North Spencer Street.

A male victim was hit by gunfire and taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Illinois State Police said they were requested by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department to investigate the shooting.
