A new phone scam is making the rounds in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday in a Facebook post they have received calls concerning the scam which is asking callers to pay money regarding an arrest warrant.

The caller asks those who receive the calls to pay by either gift cards, cyrptocurrency, wire transfers or cash.  It was also noted by the sheriff's office that they would never threaten legal action or arrest if payment is not made.

Those who receive these calls are urged not to give out any personal infomation, hang up  and call the non emergency line at (270) 444-4719.
