New ag manufacturing facility announced for Mayfield and Graves County

A new manufacturing facility in the agritech sector is coming to Mayfield and Graves County. 

Osmundson Manufacturing Company announced plans to build a 150,000-square-foot facility to produce 20-inch and larger disc blades for construction and agriculture applications. Since 1903, they've made plow and tillage blades in Perry, Iowa, that are sold in North America, Australia and Asia.

Osmundson will invest around $12.5 million to create 80 jobs. Construction on the new facility is scheduled to begin in 2023 with production beginning in 2025.

Osmundson Manufacturing owner Heather Bruce said, "We are very excited to be in Mayfield and start the planning process and new facility itself. It's going to be great, and I am very much looking forward to all the relationships and people that we will be dealing with in western Kentucky. Everyone in Mayfield and Graves County has already made us feel like we are part of the family."

Bruce said she believes this expansion "will set us up for another 120 years of success and we're committed to building that together through the involvement and support of a great community."

At the governor's Team Kentucky update, Mayfield Mayor Kathy O'Nan said, "I had no idea that in just two days less than a year from the tornadoes we would have an announcement like this for our county. They (Osmundson) said they wanted to help us rebuild. We are so grateful." 

"The Governor, staff and the wonderful economic development cabinet have come through with their word. Our folks in Graves County, Mayfield and western Kentucky will be very appreciative of this. Thank you so much," said Graves County Judge/Executive Jesse Perry.
