On Saturday, meteorologists determined that the tornado was on the ground for only two minutes, but it packed 125-mph winds along a mile and a half path that damaged about two dozen homes and businesses.
The still preliminary report said a few homes lost their entire roof, and several outbuildings were destroyed.
Numerous power poles were snapped or pushed over by the winds and dozens of trees were uprooted or broken off.
The tornado began at 11:08 a.m. near the intersection of Old Mayfield Road and McNeil Road, and traveled to the northeast. As it got to the intersection with Bryan Road, the tornado traveled directly along Old Mayfield Road to Hardmoney Road.
After crossing Hardmoney Road, it did more damage along Michael Drive before it ended at 11:10 a.m.
The survey team also noted damage from straight-line inflow winds of 80 to 90 mph.
The path of the tornado was measured to be about 175 yards wide.
