Murray man arrested after false claim of a church robbery

A Murray man has been arrested following a call that claimed armed men were trying to burglarize a church.

Murray Police said they got a 911 call on Saturday with claims that armed men were burglarizing the Glendale Church of Christ. Officers from Murray Police, Murray State Police, Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, and Kentucky State Police all rushed to the scene, but did not find a burglary or armed men. The caller, later identified as 55-year-old Anthony Cain of Murray, was interviewed by police and ultimately arrested.

Cain has been charged with falsely reporting an incident that generated an emergency response.
