UPDATE:  US 60 in LaCenter has been reoprened at crash site.

A multi-county police pursuit ended with a serious crash in LaCenter.

According to sources, the pursuit began with Paducah Police attempting to stop a vehicle believed to be stolen and connected to an earlier structure fire in the west end of McCracken County. Units from several agencies were reportedly involved.

The pursuit headed west and increased speeds along US 60 from the mall area through Olivet Church Road and all the way out into Ballard County. The suspect vehicle is said to have reached speeds north of 85 mph through Kevil and on toward LaCenter.

The pursuit came to an abrupt end, according to sources, with the suspect vehicle being involved in a head-on collision in LaCenter. There were also reports of at least one police vehicle that may have run off the road during the course of the pursuit.

Sources have told West Kentucky Star that the Kentucky State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is there and that US 60 will be blocked for some time in the middle of LaCenter.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available.
