Numerous high and warm minimum temperature records could continue to be broken through the weekend as temperatures approach and exceed 70 across most of the region through Sunday.
A strong cold front will bring a chance of thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon and evening, with a marginal (level 1 out of 5) risk for severe storms.
A brief blast of cold air will arrive Sunday night into early next week. Temperatures will struggle to reach above freezing on Monday, and wind chill values could fall into the single digits in southern Illinois and southwest Indiana.
Light snow is possible behind the front.
