Metropolis woman arrested on drug charge after traffic stop

A Metropolis woman was arrested on drug and other charges last week following a traffic stop. 

Metropolis Police stopped a vehicle for a violation along Lois Lane near North Avenue. Officers determined that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. The driver gave the officers a different name and birthdate from the owner at the time of the stop. A second officer arrived and knew the individual, who reportedly was the owner, 54-year-old Diana M. Flora of Metropolis. 

Flora is said to have told the officer she panicked when giving the false identification. A subsequent search of Flora's vehicle allegedly uncovered methamphetamine. 

Flora was charged with meth possession, obstructing identification, driving on a suspended license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
