The Board of Directors for the Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club has announced the hiring of a new Executive Director.
The club's board says Don Dorris is an experienced leader with strong skills in strategic planning, resource management, community development, marketing and public relations. He previously served as Executive Director of the Graves Growth Alliance, the economic development organization for Mayfield and Graves County.
Dorris said he looks forward to working with club supporters and the community at one of Paducah's most valuable resources.
“The Club is a place and an organization that works in conjunction with schools and other community related groups to help our children and our teens in every way possible to be successful,” Dorris said. “Like the children and teens we work with who learn, play, study, grow and develop through programs at the OCBGC; we have both opportunities and challenges ahead, and I look forward to hearing and gaining insights and input from Club supporters.”
A Paducah native, Dorris holds a BA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a MIM/MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona.
Todd Faulkner, OCBGC Board President, said they are excited to introduce Dorris at their Open House in March.
"We also see this as an opportunity to gauge community support for the Club and discuss the Club’s financial future,” Faulkner said.
The Open House is scheduled for March 3 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at the Club’s Park Avenue location.
