A McCracken County man has been charged with animal cruelty.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office and McCracken County Animal Control began a joint investigation March 28 concerning an emaciated dog.
A maintenance worker for a mobile home park on Clarks River Road reported the dog was extremely emaciated, after a concerned neighbor heard an animal inside a residence where no one resided. Authorities discovered the most recent tenant of the mobile home had moved approximately three weeks earlier.
Upon inspecting the mobile home, the deputy observed there was no food inside and it appeared the dog had been searching for food throughout the mobile home.
Animal Control and the sheriff's office learned the prior tenant was 47-year-old Kenneth Robinson, who authorities learned was also the owner of the dog.
On Thursday, March 30, Robinson was located and served an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree cruelty to animals.
