The McCracken County Fiscal Court held its final meeting of the year on Monday.
During the meeting, Judge Executive Craig Clymer and commissioners heard updates on economic development in the county, as well as from the growth of Tennessee Riverline.
After those presentations, the court took time to honor outgoing County Commissioner Jeff Parker. The judge and all the commissioners thanked Parker for his commitment. Judge Clymer bestowed Parker with the McCracken County Court Award for service to McCracken County.
The court also took time to honor and thank County Attorney Sam Clymer. The younger Clymer is leaving office to begin a private practice. Judge Clymer also gave Sam, who is also his son, the McCracken County Court Award for his service to the county. Judge Clymer thanked Sam, but also expressed his pride in the work his son had done on behalf of the county.
County Attorney Elect Cade Foster will be sworn in Friday by Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Shea Nickell to begin his term, while also fulfilling the final two weeks of Sam Clymer's term.
