The Mayfield Police Department recently participated in active shooter and active aggression training.
Over the last week, officers performed drills and conducted scenerios focusing on decision making, watching for threats, verbal de-escalation, and team building.
Officers participating in the training used specially modified firearms that use paint bullets to introduce stress and a level of realism to the training.
During the training, authorities were equipped with a helmet and protective equipment while facing "threats" firing at them, as well as other crisis intervention scenarios.
