Mayfield Independent Schools Superintendent Billy Edwards said in a statement that school administration became aware of the threat Thursday morning and immediately notified Mayfield Police. Police said that they were called just after 6 a.m. and were able to find and interview the student. Evidence and information obtained through that interview led officers to take an 11-year-old male into custody.
The student was charged with terroristic threatening and taken to a juvenile detention center.
