An issue on the ballot Tuesday for Massac County voters is that of increasing the fire tax by 0.2% for the Massac County Fire Protection District.
Board member John McConnell told West Kentucky Star the increase is needed to continue to provide the level of service the community deserves.
McCormick noted the costs of equipment for fireman has increased tremendously since the fire district was voted in back in 1982.
He added the increase would also help replace some of the fire truck which range in age from 24 to 38 years old.
