The man accused of stealing a backhoe and driving it to a southern Illinois airport to catch a flight is behind bars in Nevada facing another charge related to a stolen vehicle.
Authoriteis said Timothy J. Baggott of Carbondale is the suspect who stole the backhoe on May 18 and drove it 10 miles to the terminal in Marion to catch a flight to Portland, Oregon.
Baggott was arrested three days later in Elko County, Nevada for charges related to the possession of a stolen vehicle, but he was released.
On May 22nd, Baggott was arrested in Wells, Nevada for charges of possession of another stolen vehicle.
Baggott was lodged in the Elko County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
On May 23rd, the Williamson County State's Attorney filed charges of felony theft over $10,000.
A southern Illinois warrant for Baggott's arrest has been issued with a $25,000 bond.
