Fugitive arrested in Ballard County on stolen gun charge

A fugitive was arrested in Ballard County on charges of receiving a stolen firearm.

Kentucky State Police and Ballard County deputies received information that 26-year-old Brandon Dowell of Hardinsburg was staying at a home in LaCenter.

They talked with the homeowner who confirmed Dowell was inside. The homeowner also told them Dowell had a gun inside the home. Troopers found the gun and learned it had recently been stolen from another location in Ballard County.

Dowell was taken into custody without incident.

He was also served with outstanding warrants for charges including burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a forged instrument and escape.
