Reports of a burglary in Mayfield on Saturday ended with a man's arrest on assault and other charges.

Officers responded to a home on Hillside Drive after the caller said a man forced his way into her home armed with a knife. She was reportedly armed with a handgun, and 23-year-old Damion Siddell was taken into custody soon after.

Siddell was reportedly found to be under the influence and taken to a hospital, where he allegedly tried to get away. He was restrained and taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center.

At the RC Center, authorities said Siddell lashed out once more, leading to the assault of a jailer and damage to a transport vehicle.

Siddell was ultimately charged with burglary, public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, assault, and criminal mischief.
