The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has increased the load limit on the KY 58/Obion Creek Bridge in Hickman County.

The Obion Creek Bridge at mile point 4.92 had been temporarily restricted to a three ton load limit.

After inspectors found substructure deterioration on the bridge, it was closed for a couple of weeks to allow repairs to beams on the main span.

Following completion of the repairs, the KYTC Division of Bridges reviewed the work and recalculated the bridge load limit.

The new limit is set at 18 tons with signs posted at each end of the bridge structure located along KY 58 about halfway between Clinton and Columbus.
