On Friday, Livingston County's sheriff will retire after a lengthy career.

Sheriff Bobby Davidson has served in the role after being elected in 2010.  He began his law enforcement career as a Livingston County deputy sheriff in 2006.

During his time in office, Sheriff Davidson helped lead many important advancements for the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the community.

Working alongside KACO, he helped establish the county’s first policy program, strengthening professionalism and accountability within the office.

One of his proudest accomplishments was implementing the School Resource Officer program in Livingston County history. Today, every school campus in the county is served daily by an SRO.

In 2013, Sheriff Davidson also helped bring the DARE program to Livingston County. Last year marked the program’s 13th year of teaching and mentoring the county's youth.

Sheriff Davidson said serving the people of Livingston County has been one of the greatest honors of his life.
