Escaped Graves County inmate recaptured in Mayfield

Nathan Williams is back in custody.

Williams was arrested Friday in the area of General Street in Mayfield after police received tips from residents.


ORIGINAL STORY:
A search is underway in Graves County after an inmate fled on foot from a work release program. 

Kentucky State Police and other law enforcement agencies are searching for 36-year-old Nathan Williams, who was last seen running northbound along US 45 near Park Terrace Drive.

Williams is described as a white male, six feet tall and weighing about 148 pounds. He has red hair and hazel eyes. He was reportedly wearing a short sleeve gray shirt and blue jeans. Williams is said to have ties to Campbell and Kenton Counties in northern Kentucky.

Williams was an inmate at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and was working with the highway department when he fled from jail staff just before 7:45 a.m. Friday. He had been convicted of meth possession, probation violation, theft by unlawful taking, theft of a controlled substance, and receiving stolen property.
