KSP Post 1 welcomes new commander

Kentucky State Police Post 1 at Mayfield has a new commander.

Captain Joey Adams has been in several roles at Post 1 from 2001-18 after beginning his career at Post 8 in Morehead in 1999.

In 2018, Adams transferred to the Division of Forensic Services, where he served as commander, supervising all six forensic laboratories.

Adams was promoted to Lieutenant in 2019 and then Captain in 2021.

Captain Adams replaces Major David Archer, who was recently promoted to serve as West Troop Major, overseeing operations among the 8 post districts in the western half of the commonwealth.
