Jackson Purchase Medical Center activated its emergency response plan Friday night to ensure the hospital was well-equipped to serve the community.

As part of their plan, the hospital has extra staff and resources available to accommodate higher patient volumes. In addition, hospital leaders are working around the clock to ensure the facility will have the necessary capacity and supplies to continue caring for patients and supporting staff in the days ahead.

Jackson Purchase Medical Center is working closely with the local Emergency Management office, first responders, and community partners in Mayfield and Graves County on appropriate response protocols and community updates.

The hospital named four area shelters that are open and available for those needing food, housing, and clothing. Those include Mayfield High School, the Way Center in Wingo, Fancy Farm Knights of Columbus Hall, and the Wingo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The Catalyst Community Center is providing essentials, including baby items, blankets, food, and other items to those in need.
