Illinois man arrested in Murray on drug and alcohol charges

An Illinois man was arrested in Murray on drug and alcohol charges just after midnight Friday.

The arrest came after a traffic stop along North 12th Street early Friday. Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies determined that 24-year-old Omar Flores Rodriguez of Berwyn, Illinois, was driving under the influence of alcohol. An open alcohol container was located inside the vehicle. A further search located a quantity of cocaine, as well.

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Calloway County Detention Center.
