McCracken County Clerk Jamie Huskey announced on Monday evening that she will not seek reelection for that post.

Huskey said in a statement that she will finish her term, but will not seek a return to the office for the term beginning in 2027. Huskey has worked in the clerk’s office since 1995, and offered her thanks to all who have supported her through her career.

She said in a statement, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of McCracken County for so many years. Throughout my time in the Clerk's Office, I have met countless wonderful individuals - coworkers, friends, and citizens -who have each made a lasting impact on my life. This office has seen me through many chapters, both personally and professionally, and I am deeply grateful for every experiencе."

Adding, “To the voters who placed their trust in me, and to those who relied on me at the Clerk's Office long before I was elected, thank you. Serving you has been one of the greatest honors of my life."

Huskey was appointed McCracken County Clerk when Julie Griggs retired in August of 2022. Huskey was elected to the post in November of 2022.
