A Hopkinsville woman has been charged with sharing child sexual exploitation online.

Kentucky State Police and their Electronic Crime Branch arrested 33-year-old Stephanie Renee Vickers at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday after an undercover investigation. That investigation got underway when KSP uncovered images of child sexual exploitation being shared online. Detectives went to Vickers' home in Hopkinsville Thursday to interview her. Electronic devices and equipment were taken from the home to be examined by the KSP Forensic Lab.

Vickers is charged with the distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old, possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old, and promoting a minor under 16 years old in a sexual performance. Each felony count carries a potential prison term of one to five years meaning Vickers faces a maximum sentence of 60 years.

Vickers was taken to the Christian County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing.
